Follow Us Remarkable care, right where you live Cancer: It’s a word you hope you never have to hear, yet it has affected all of our lives in some way. Whether you’ve been diagnosed yourself or supported a loved one, cancer has likely had some impact on your journey. Because we know each journey is different, our team at Riverside Cancer Institute works with each patient to determine a treatment plan specific to them. This is possible through our comprehensive cancer care model, which not only includes doctors and nurses, but also radiation therapists, medical assistants, navigators, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, laboratory technicians, social workers, dietitians, pastoral care, and authorization specialists. “This whole team has been awesome,” says Ericka Esters, who is featured on the cover and shares her story on page 4. “I highly recommend Riverside’s Cancer Institute.” Ericka had a treatment plan that included care from Riverside’s partnership with Rush University Medical Center, as well as Brachytherapy, which is now offered at Riverside. Since Ericka lives and works in Kankakee, she explains that receiving treatment at the Cancer Institute in nearby Bourbonnais was very helpful. Experiences like Ericka’s mean the world to us. Providing access to high-quality care close to home is Riverside’s priority, and this drives us to serve the needs of patients throughout the counties of Kankakee, Iroquois, Will, Grundy, and beyond—because remarkable care should never be out of reach. We thank you for continuing to trust us with your care. Thanks for reading, and be healthy.
