That commitment has never been more important. A multiphase renovation Across the nation, demand for behavioral health services continues to grow, while many communities face limited access to care. In response, Riverside is making the largest behavioral health investment in its history to expand access, modernize care environments, and strengthen the future behavioral health workforce. Today, Riverside’s inpatient behavioral health services care for patients from more than 70 Illinois counties and over 330 ZIP codes. For many individuals and families, particularly those in rural communities, Riverside provides access to specialized care that may not otherwise be available nearby. Riverside’s comprehensive behavioral health services include inpatient care for adolescents, adults, and seniors; outpatient and day treatment Healing begins here Riverside Healthcare’s vision for the future of behavioral health programs; addiction and dual-diagnosis services; schoolbased support programs; services for people with autism; and community-based intervention programs. At the center of Riverside’s vision is a major modernization of its inpatient behavioral health units. The current 64-bed department serves patients across dedicated adolescent, adult, and geriatric units, but many of the spaces were originally built decades ago. Through a multiphase renovation, Riverside will create environments designed to better support privacy, safety, dignity, and healing. Planned improvements include expanded private patient rooms, therapeutic treatment spaces, de-escalation areas, enhanced safety features, and modernized care environments tailored to the unique needs of each patient population. Beyond hospital walls Riverside continues to invest in programs that help individuals access support earlier and remain connected to care throughout their recovery journey.
